Brandon Tina was a female to male transgender person born into really a homophobic culture.

As we discuss Brandon's life growing up in rural Nebraska in the 1970s and 80s, it's really difficult

to conceive of the difficulties that he faced. Looking back, you can see how his life spiraled

out of control, as he did attempt to navigate

relationships and endured some abuse, a lot of judgment, and a lot of

disapproval. Join us at the quiet end today for what we hope will be an insightful look at the struggles

So we're gonna drink a nice Nebraska beer.

This one is from Emperian Brewing Company in Lincoln, and it's called Darkside Vanilla Porter.

So it's an American Porter, fairly low ABV of 5.7%.

Beer is black with a tiny tan head. There's a very nice chocolate aroma and a very subtle

vanilla aroma. The taste is cocoa and vanilla and the vanilla is much more apparent in the taste. This is a medium-bodied beer, easy

drinking, and enjoyable.

All right, sounds good.

Yeah, so we're going to open it, but we're not going to take it to the quiet end today.

Now the quiet end is closed. We're not going out. We are under quarantine, sort of, self-imposed quarantine because of the coronavirus,

and we thought it would be kind of irresponsible for us to be out and around

with a bunch of people.
