I think there's something to be said about like the intersection of Detroit itself and how it shapes the people that grow up there and live there.

And what are some of the things that we do in Detroit that do not happen in Atlanta, do not happen in D.C.

Do not happen in Harlem or even a West Hollywood.

journalist, and proud Detroit native Aaron Foley about his new novel, Boys Come First.

Boys Come First follows three black gay men living in Detroit dealing with life, love, friendship,

and the ever-changing city around them. It's sexy, funny, heartwarming, everything you could

want in a summer read, but most importantly, it's a love letter

to one of the blackest cities in the country, Detroit. All that and more right after this
