Imagine a school where boys can be boys. Heck, imagine a school where there is such a thing.

schools around the country, as I learned from reading the Wall Street Journal today,

where they actually build the curriculum in concert with the way boys are.

In fact, they are, Stephen Green, one could say, following the science when it comes to boys.

I want to read this one quote here.

It's from a 16-year-old kid who

said, it's really hard sitting still for eight hours a day. When he jumped from elementary

school to middle school, the lack of recess and daily gym was a jolt. He often got in trouble

for talking out of turn or fidgeting at his desk.

After school, he and his friends escaped into video games, a realm where they have purpose

and work together on a shared goal.

Now, Stephen Green, this is a rather lengthy article by a woman who is delightfully named Julie

Jargon in the Wall Street Journal. But I found it

thrilling to see that there are places where they recognize the inherent differences in boys and

girls, and they decided to build a curriculum around the way boys behave and think. And there's

much more activity built into this boys for

boys school. There's more things where you work with your hands. There's more competition.

Even for simple things where they say like, okay, it's time to straighten up your notebook.

I'm going to give you two minutes. And he said they found that when they give boys two minutes to straighten up their notebook,

they get it done in a minute and a half.
