Deuteronomy, chapter 6, verse 8.

You shall bind them as a sign on your hand,

and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

Now, I want you to think about this verse with me.

This is God talking to his people about his word and he is saying,

basically, you need to saturate your entire life with my word. Talk about it all the time. When you lie down,

when you sit up, when you rise, when you walk, all the time.

And then you get to verse 8.

He says, you shall bind my words as a sign on your hand.

Just picture something on your hand that you look at all the time.

They shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

Like you can't escape looking at God's words.

That's the way God causes people to live.

And I just want to encourage us to think about, okay, what does this look like in our lives?

Because I've shared this before.

A couple of centuries ago, it would have been common for an ordinary

Christian, not a pastor or church leader, just everyday Christian, to rise before dawn for extended time

and private prayer, meditation on God's Word, to then be followed by family prayer and

meditation on God's Word in the morning, to then be followed by time set aside in the middle of

the day for personal or corporate, like with the morning, to then be followed by time set aside in the middle of the day
