Magical Midlife Madness by K.F. Brief. Both are firsts in unfinished series about women in midlife who have inherited houses. And then finally, from Carol, for the reader who wanted more of the Veronica Speedwell series, I recommend Things in Jars. It's not a series, but has a plucky Victorian heroine. What's not to like about an off

book coroner slash detective who pretends to be a widow in order to dodge social restrictions. That's amazing. She has a seven-foot-tall former circus performer for a maid and has befriended a ghost.
