| 0:18.0 | Hey Deservant Listeners, as a part of my effort to clear the books regarding all the emails that we have acquired over the past year or so, I thought I would quickly answer a bunch of emailed questions. This first email is from annual middle tier patron, anonymous middletier patron, she says, I enjoyed your episodes where you |
| 0:26.1 | interviewed the non-offending pedophile. I would like to eventually counsel this |
| 0:32.2 | population but I'm not sure how I would get the word out due to stigma. |
| 0:37.0 | Do you have any suggestions? |
| 0:39.0 | Well just chiming in here. |
| 0:41.0 | Well if you're looking for referrals, meaning finding venues |
| 0:46.0 | where people are like, hey I need a therapist to help with this, meaning that it's |
| 0:50.7 | other clinicians, that sort of thing, |
| 0:53.0 | then I would just look in the normal places |
| 0:56.4 | like Facebook and other kinds of therapist forums online |
| 1:00.1 | that are in your area, local. |
| 1:02.4 | Also, you could reach out to other clinicians who do this sort of work |
| 1:06.0 | because they're usually at capacity |
| 1:09.0 | and not accepting new clients |
| 1:11.0 | because these specialists are kind of rare. Also you could ask |
| 1:16.4 | your local counseling master's program and ask them who to talk to in the area. You know, when you have a counseling master's |
| 1:25.9 | program or doctoral program they're usually kind of connected to a lot of |
| 1:29.7 | different professionals in the area. But if you're looking for clients directly, like a non-offending |
| 1:35.8 | pedophile who is looking for a therapist, I guess I would go directly to the non-offending minor attractive persons forums, the No Map forums online |
| 1:50.0 | and just put your name out there. |
| 1:52.8 | I'm guessing that they appreciate that. |
| 1:55.5 | Going on with the email. |
