Peace be with you. Friends, I'm very aware as I say those words that, you know, the privilege

of a bishop to greet people liturgical with peace be with you. It's echoing the words of Jesus,

the risen Christ, and we hear it in the Gospel for today on the second Sunday of Easter called

Mercy Sunday. And it's just one of those beautiful displays of the divine mercy and this gift

that Jesus gives, which is the gift of peace. But let's look at the way this begins, because

there's a juxtaposition here that's exceptionally

important.

And to get it wrong is to get a lot of Christianity wrong.

So listen now, on the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked

where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst.
