Okay, so many of you may already know I'm from the Boston area, and one of my favorite places when I'm home is Blue Hills.

It's 7,000 square miles of forests, not even a half hour away from downtown. It's a perfect

place to hike and be at one with nature.

At its highest point, there's a weather observatory.

It kind of looks like a small two floor home with a tower attached to it.

Now, I first came to the observatory over 20 years ago

when I was in the fourth grade on a field trip.

And if I'm being honest, fourth grade Baudelaire

was way more into having a day off from school

than learning how the folks up there

use these really old instruments to track the weather.

But I recently learned that the observatory has the longest continuous daily

weather tracking record in the United States,

dating back to 1885.

So I decided I would go back to that observatory now as an adult. And this time I learned about a lot more than just the weather.
