Salaam aikamārahmatu. I'm standing in Shurbanitia, exactly 30 years after the horrific massacre, the largest genocide

that occurred in Europe since World War II. These are the names of over 7,000

civilians. Another 2,000 roughly have yet to be identified. Around 8,500 people roughly were

massacred in a killing spree that lasted a day or two.

The tragedy, of course, is much worse than simply that.

This took place under the protection of the United Nations.

The Dutch forces that were sent here to protect the civilians.

The people were told that they're allowed to come here. The people were told that this is a safe zone. And so the Boston military left thinking that the UN is in charge. However, the Serbian military surrounded this area and separated the men from the women and children and literally gunned down machete killed 8,500 people in the

span of just a day or two. And you see here every single one of these pillars represents,

in fact, it doesn't even represent a full body because in order to hide the crime, they dug mass

graves and they dumped the bodies in

when there was a fear of them being found out they redug those corpses and just using machines

using caterpillars they simply picked up the bodies put them in another place and then again

and then again they did this three four times there's hardly a body that was left untouched.

All of these bodies have been desecrated.

Some of them, they told me there's literally just a fragment of a bone.

There's just the tip of a finger.

The rest of the body has yet to be found.

Another 1,500 are still missing.

There must be graves around here

that we don't even know where they are.
