Good morning, Dwayne and here with Tack Room Bible Talk.

Except we're not in the tack room today. We're sitting outside.

And it's a beautiful day today.

The thing about outside is I can't control the environment so much.

So be interesting to see what happens and who comes by and who pulls up.

I haven't done a video in a few days because I didn't really have anything to say.

But I had something this morning on my heart and so I want to look at it.

Probably the one passage of scripture that I've got the most comments on where people have the most

misunderstanding about. And it's not deep, deep theology. It's pretty basic, pretty simple. But I want to

look at that this morning and see if I can explain the simplicity of that's actually going on here. We're going to go to John

chapter 3. The chapter, you know, you've got probably the most famous verse of scripture in the

world, John 316. And we're going to go to John chapter 3. And we're going to start in verse 1,

and we're going to see if we can't just clarify this a little

bit verse number 1 says there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus a ruler of the Jews now if

you don't know the Pharisees were a particular religious sect of the Jewish religion and they were very influential. They were very

powerful. They were the teachers and the studiers and they were, as it says here, he was a ruler

of the Jews, very powerful, very influential.

The same came to Jesus by night.

Now, why did he come to Jesus by night?

The Pharisees during the day were always hounding Jesus and asking him questions and trying to trip him up, much like the so many of the quote unquote religious leaders we have today, they really,

really relished their role of authority and of leadership.

And when Jesus come along with his simple truth, he was a threat to that.
