Everyone's heard about Burning Man. The Countercultural Festival held every summer in Black Rock City, Nevada.

Sex, drugs, monumental installations, you know all about it.

But you may not know about Boring Man, the Counter-Counter Cultural festival that's sort of a mirror image of

burning man. Boring Man is held every late fall in the parking lot of an

abandoned super mall in North Dakota.

Thousands of unstoned, unhip, unsexy, regular Americans get together to celebrate.

Celebrate what?

Well, see for yourself. Here's a tape from last year's boring man.

I'd like to kick things off this morning by saying a few words about the man who inspired our annual event.

Not everybody here was lucky enough to know Donald, some of us are too young.

Some of us are so old, we don't remember what we had for breakfast.

Let alone our pal, Don.

Ha ha, I'm just kidding.

Don had to be the most boring man on Earth.

The most boring man in our town anyway.

If you saw him coming down the street and he was always coming out the street and was always coming down the street. Your best bet was to duck back

in your house. If that didn't work then you could pretend to be busy studying some little

problem in the lawn or

scratching the door handle of your car,

anything but off eye contact.
