Okay, just to level set in case some crazy news comes out between now and the time this is released.

I'm recording this late morning on Thursday, February 29th, the bastard child of Julius Caesar, because today is

leap day. I'm going to go see Dune in a little bit I wanted to get this done beforehand so

what to talk about it?

CNN has used me a lot this week and I shouldn't really complain about that. I should turn on

do not disturb though because otherwise these dings are going to get really annoying.

Case in point.

And so it's been a lot of punditry this week,

a lot of punditry about some things a lot of punditry about some things.

I don't know if they're interesting or not, but I didn't get to do punditry about like some of the big things this week because they happened

when I wasn't on CNN. So for instance, Mitch McConnell has announced that he is going to not

run again for majority or a minority leader, but he is going to stay on on the Senate, and he is going to stay on as minority leader until November.

And I got to say, I just think that this is one of these...

And one of the reasons that can do punditry today is because the dispatch

podcast is going to be all about legal stuff. We're going to get Mike Warren and

Sarah on and who do the newsletter the collision and just do an explainer getting people up to

speed so the normal dispatch roundtable isn't going to be punditry so normally I try to

hold off on a lot of punditry on the solo

because I don't want to just repeat myself on two podcasts in a row on the assumption

that there's a Venn diagram with some overlap between listeners of this and listeners of the dispatch
