Summary

A huge milestone at WFAN. Boomer Esiason has officially surpassed Don Imus to become the longest-tenured morning show host in the station’s history. Evan and Tiki react to the incredible run, reflect on Imus’ impact on the station, and discuss what this milestone means in WFAN history. Plus, the conversation quickly turns to the chaos of NFL free agency, the Jets’ ongoing quarterback search, and Evan revisiting his very enthusiastic reaction to last year’s Justin Fields news. A mix of WFAN history, radio legends, and classic New York sports talk. 🎙️

And I had no idea about this until Dan and Carter Rett, longtime caller to the morning show, tweeted this thing out, that Don Imus, the legendary Don Imus from Imus in the morning, he worked here at WFAN from October 7th, 1988, when the show was picked up and really took this station to another level.

I mean, we are not here without Don I miss, this radio station isn't, so kudos to him until his firing,

when he made those horrible comments on April 12, 2007.

0:32.4

That was an 18-year, six-month, and five-day run.

0:37.4

Today, Boomer Isayson surpassed. Wow. Surpassed.

0:44.5

Don Imus. Quit being a push. Congratulations.

Boomer. Congratulations. You're legend. You're legend category now. I mean, that's, that is.

That's a big time one because it's in the same slot, the morning slot at WFAN. And I know Boomer did Friday night football with Chris Russo and all sorts of stuff. But he has been in that slot since September 4th, 2007. Today is March 10th, 2026. A good job by Dan doing all this research. He is now at 18 years, six months, and six days. Boomer O'Sciason has surpassed the legendary Don Imus. Wow. And somebody born that day is now an adult. Think about that. Yeah, they could buy cigarettes. Right. And they can vote. And they could go fighting wars for us. They could vote before.

1:28.9

Oh, yeah, well, six months earlier.

1:29.4

Yeah, yes.

1:32.0

They could do all those things six months earlier.

1:34.1

But that is an incredible accomplishment.

1:37.8

So, congrats to our colleague, Boomer Isis-Eisning, and good job by Dan.

1:40.6

Because truthfully, none of us would have known this.

1:41.3

No.

1:42.1

It's a little, I mean.

1:43.1

It's a lot.

1:44.2

It's a little, I mean. It's a little what? It's an obscure.

1:59.4

It's an obscure statistic. It's a cool statistic. It's a little sad on Dan's part that he did the research and noticed. Are you kidding me? It's a little bit. It's easy research. It's just a little thirsty, by day. But none of us would have known it if he didn't do it. You know what I mean? Yeah, I mean, what a... Man, our lives

had been so different.
