Americans go to the polls to decide whether to give Donald Trump a second term as president or give former Vice President Joe Biden the job. Also on the ballot are a third of the seats in the

U.S. Senate, which could hand the Democrats a majority. Lots of things will change if that happens,

including tax and economic policy. In a nutshell, as our U.S. editor John Foley argued in a piece this week, the rich will pay more

as taxes at the higher end go up. But many other things will stay the same. America's relations with

China may become more diplomatic under a Biden administration, but the general view

that the country represents an economic insecurity threat will live on. Dido the approach,

the increasing power of tech companies and platforms like Facebook and Google. There's bipartisan

consensus to clipping their wings, as Gina Chom, our columnist on the West Coast has argued.
