This is Books and Bars, and I'm going to be breaking down a clip, an excerpt from The Art of Money

Getting by P.T. Barnum.

So P.T. Barnum is pretty much the inventor of the circus, I'm pretty sure, right?

Barnum and Bailey's, there's a movie that just came out about it.

What is it called?

The Greatest Showman.

My daughters love it.

It's kind of like a, it's a good movie actually.

I'm not a huge fan of, what do you call them?

Musicals, but it's actually a pretty good movie.

But anyway, obviously P.T. Barnum very successful.

He has this book called The Art of Money Getting. It's kind of like a hidden

gem, if you will. I didn't even know he had a book. And I got it. And it's really, really

practical. And I really enjoy reading it. It's super simple. Lots of stories and things. But in chapter

12, he has a chapter called Be Systematic. And it's immediately caught my eye because I'm someone who very much believes in the power of having systems and being deliberate and intentional about doing things and making sure that you are disciplined.

So here's what he said.

He says, be systematic.

Men should be systematic.

By the way, I'm pretty sure he meant men and women, but obviously this was a long time ago. Men should be systematic in their business. A person who does business by rule, having a time and place for everything, doing his work promptly will accomplish twice as much with half the trouble of him who does it carelessly and slipshod.
