Well, thank you everybody for joining us here. I'm Father Chris Alar. We're live. I'm trying to get my voice back.

Snow's coming down, but we got a few people here today, so it's nice to have you join us. We got today something I have never spoken on before, the book of Job.

And as you saw from the title slide, why God do that now don't worry I'm not

going to give the same old talk on why God allows suffering this is something

totally different and the reason might surprise you why God allows this and so

we're going to summarize the first few minutes of the talk.

We'll be summarizing the whole book of Job. You've heard about Job and you know basic story,

but I'm going to really condense it for you. And what's great is when I had my scripture

classes in seminary, we had a lot of scripture classes.

And when we tackled the book of Job, it was probably the most interesting conversations

among all the seminarians and the priest instructor.

And so I got all my notes, and we're ready to begin.

So let us pray in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, we ask that like Job, we persevere in our trials, our tribulations.

We ask that you give us patience with ourselves and with others. We ask that we treat others like you would

in a Christ-like manner

so that we, like Job, can be rewarded in a greater way.

And we ask all this through Christ, our Lord.
