All right, back for a edition of the Book Riot Book Club, I guess, is that we call this?

Oh, we talk about the book every now and again.

This time it's Exhibit Biroquan, which was one of the more anticipated books of the summer.

Short book, interesting book, beautiful cover, and I am going to be completely comfortable and not at all awkward at all about what happens here. I'm fine.

Yeah, I pick the book club books for us, you know, like months in advance based on what looks

interesting and that we can probably have a good conversation about, but well before either of us

has read them. We do the reading right before we have these conversations

they are not vetted and as I was reading it I was the like well we're going to talk around a lot of things

it's I mean it's both we can start there I guess it's both explicit and not in some interesting ways. Yeah. It's explicit but it's not trying to shock, which, uh, see feels like an important distinction to me, but yeah, we are.

I think that's all part of what's at stake here.

I guess to get the, I don't know,

the dramatous personae and plot out of the way a little bit.

We'll be spoiling this pretty soon I'd

imagine though there's not a whole lot to spoil but anyway so the main

character she is a are these 20 something people they must They must be right? She's yeah, Jin is 29. She mentions at one point. She's about to be 30 and I believe and I believe Lydia She's young is mid 20s like 25 or so, yeah.

Right, because they say Valley Dancers have a shelf life at 30,

that means she's got five years, so we put her 25.
