Very straightforward. I take a look at the Wikipedia for all of the important historical

and cultural events from a given calendar year. We did the late 20th century. We did the early

21st century, having essentially caught up to the present day. I rolled the odometer back to

the early 20th century. Turns out that is almost indisputably what the show should have been all

along. So much interesting stuff happened in the year 1901. I forgot to even mention the

Hello and welcome to Year in review, 1901.

Having taken a brisk but fairly thorough look at the most noteworthy events of the year 1901.

I find myself wondering why we, but more to the point, I, have wasted so much time pondering

the trifling events of our own current century and the late 20th century when, as it turns out,

the real action was happening in when we say, Fand de Siecle.

I think we are talking about the end of the Belle Epoque.

Now I am really talking French out of my French ass. I think we are

really talking about late 19th century, early 20th, and boy, oh boy, what heady times they were
