podcast Stars on Suspense, you know that one of my favorite radio actresses is

Kathy Lewis. While she was rarely heard in lead roles, Kathy Lewis was

the MVP of Radio's Outstanding Theater of Thrills. She co-starred in so many classic episodes of suspense and her

performances elevated those of her superstar leading men and women. On this show we've heard her several times as

Phyllis Knight loyal secretary and sidekick to Wally Meres Michael Shane and she

was regularly heard on Sam Spade, Broadway is my bead, and the Whistler just to name a few. But today we're going to hear the wonderful Kathy Lewis in the delightful radio comedy series My Friend Irma.

She's joined by Marie Wilson who plays the title character,

The Scatterbrained but kind-hearted Irma Peterson.

Kathy Lewis played Jane Stacy, Irma's friend and roommate in the apartment they shared,

and the two actresses made for a fantastic comedy duo.

Jane was the straight woman to Irma whose misunderstandings and confusion made Gracie

Allen sound logical and level-headed by comparison.
