I think that anybody who's really into movies and reads criticism and gives movies to people and get this response, it bugs them.

When in reality, like, when people say that, it's just because they can't articulate why they didn't like something. I think it's especially used as a cudgel to beat avant-garde films with. Oh, really? Or to, like, dismiss them or to not have to deal with them. Because people can say something like, yeah, that's stand-brack and shit. That's all fine. But really, what movies are about are stories.
