are hankering for season two of our show. We're putting it all together right now and we feel really enthusiastic about it

because in season two we're going to dig even deeper into some specific parts of the culture of the American South and you'll hear

season two very soon but we wanted to bring you a special bonus episode

And it's a chat with three of the creative forces behind a TV show on the Cartoon Network

called Squid Billies. If you're unaware,

and Squidbillies is one of Adult Swim's longest running shows.

That's right.

That was the voice of Early Collar, the granddaddy in a family of what they call

Anthropomorphic mud squids who live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of

North Georgia exactly where I grew up.

Now, I'd never once thought of my home folks as mud squids.

I'm not sure how I could have, but I have to say that this strange little cartoon show somehow nails the hard-headed stubbornness of Southern Mountain folks like me,

but it never really flips my angry switch by making fun of us.
