All right, Vernon, for people who don't know, why don't you tell us what the American Indian Movement is?

Well, first of all, of course, I serve as a national representative for the American Indian Movement for the past 30 years.

The movement actually was formed in 1968, or I should say

reborn in 1968 here in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

And of course, we realized that our movement actually was born the day that this colonial

pirate, Christopher Columbus, got off the vote.

And eventually, the pilgrims at Plymouth Rock, there was a need to start a resistance movement.

So we're the continuation of over a 500 year struggle.
