He was in town for the National Governors Association weekend, which comes every year, this time of year.

And from all across the country, people come in, talk about what they're doing in their states and what other states might be able to learn from that.

And every year, we have a special Politico event with a number of the governors who are in town,

and I got to sit down with Governor Herbert.

It makes this our first live episode of the podcast.

As you hear, we even had a question from the audience.

Conversation with Governor Herbert, why did I want to talk to him? Well, look, Utah in some ways is one of the most interesting political places in the country right now

because of what's going on with Mitt Romney running for Senate there.

And we talked about that.

We talked about how

the governor feels about a guy who has not really lived in the state for very long, turning

around and running for Senate from Utah. We also, of course, talked about the Olympics.
