episode in the documentary feed. Since conflict broke out in Sudan in April last year, it's

been almost impossible for journalists to get to the country and really find out what's happening.

So we wanted to share this episode of the global story where my colleague Liz Doucette hears from two BBC journalists about their incredible reporting from Sudan's forgotten war.

Today, rare access inside Sudan.

It's almost five years since an image from Khatoum shot around the world.

The woman in white.

22-year-old student,

a la Sala, stood on the roof of a car at dusk,

surrounded by a sea of protesters,

filming her on their phones.

She led the crowd in chants against the government,

a picture of defiance, of shifting power, of hope.

And today, the images from Sudan are a brutal, a tragic contrast.

Eleven months of war have ripped whole communities and lives apart.

And the people of Sudan feel forgotten.
