As you have gathered by this point, this is a special episode because circumstances in the world

both at home and abroad have made it such that it's difficult for folks to get to

mass or in some cases impossible.

So in response to that, we wanted to make the liturgy

the word more widely available.

And though we remain hungry for the Eucharist,

we can try at the very least to be nourished by the scriptures and to anticipate the day

when we can return to the regular use of the sacraments. So I'm joined here by

Father Patrick Brisco and by Father

Jacob Birch and Janzick. This is Father Gregory Pine and so we're going to send

it over to Father Patrick in Providence with just a word about the virus, a word

about our response, a word about how we make fruitful

use, how the scriptures, and our time of preparation.

I think the most important thing for us to remember as a church right now is that even though public worship may be postponed in some places,

public worship is canceled in some places, the church does not cease to be at prayer.

In many places, parish priests are still offering public

masses. If your parish priests is not offering a public mass, he's still

praying for you. He's still offering mass for you for the welfare of your community.
