What Now?

Surely, like the track about shit, should I use my own? What Now?

So this album that we're talking about this week, What Now by John Bat, started live as drum beats.

Loads of these amazing jazz drum beats were tracked, all frenetic, mad, crazy drumming.

I love the drumming on this album so much. And there was one of the main things that I connected with on this album.

I used to play the drums myself growing up. I was in many bands. I used to teach the drums.

Drums used to be my life,

and it was really nice to connect with an album and mainly be getting so much out of the percussion,

out of the drums on it. And I wanted to do a bonus episode, which really explored the nature

of the drums on this album, what the drums invoking you as a listener, just everything

really, drum related. I just wanted to go full on all in on the drums because it's another

passion of mine, alongside 2016 music, hosts I like drums from any year.

So what was I going to do to explore the drums as much as possible? Easy! I got two of my favourite drummers ever, and we went to Maidavale Studios,

they each sat behind a drum kit, and we talked about the drums.
