Should all acquaintance be forgot and days of old anxiety? Hello and welcome to the great album's podcast my name is bill and we were just

listening to old lang syne by the beach boys off of their christmas album i figured i'd do that one

in honor of brian who could not make it here uh to join today. But, you know, he's the lover of the

Beach Boy, so I thought I'd throw that on there as our little tune that we're going to use for

our bonus song Thursday year-end wrap-up episode. We don't really have much to talk about,

except for I've just got some emails to get through. Maybe just give a little

bit of thanks to everybody. And, you know, it's, I had said that I kind of want to do, put all the

emails about like the Beatles songs and stuff in one episode. So that's going to be this episode.

And plus, I'm just going to kind of fill you guys in some of our plans for next year.

So before we get to the emails, I just wanted to comment real quick on Old Langzine,

which, you know, this is the year-end at wrap-up, so therefore that is, you know,

traditionally sung as part of New Year's, at least in the Western world. And so it is a Scots poem written by Robert Burns in 1788 and set to the tune of a

traditional folk song.

That's according to Wikipedia.

And apparently the Boy Scouts use it to end jamborees and other functions in internationally, not stateside,

I don't believe, according to Wikipedia.

in which Brian and I read an email from a listener who accredited
