But I think it's very this is this is actually it connects to what we were talking about in the main episode about something completely different

Which is about building an organized left that actually has power the sort of quote-unquote left and punk isn't left let's be clear about that but the

DIY ethos

misconception that that's the case yeah certainly not the case it has been but it you know

anyways DIY was something subcultural.

DIY was about trying to make like a new world for ourselves or at least within the

shell of this old, try to create something that was ours that we love that we

cared about, that created community, you know, and whether or not something that's ours

created community you know and whether or not that's a

revolutionary thing is up to you out there but it had those that sort of

of basic soliduristics sort of vibes to it.

It teaches you how to get along with motherfockers.

And people, different backgrounds coming together, sharing the love for the music and for the culture

and for the writing and everything like that.

So what it, the degradation of politics such as it's been

over the last 20 years or so where it's so divorced from any of these real world

struggles right and completely undermined something

that seems like from your experience and others

that it was a very strong and good.

And like, let's just call it a loving community

of people who put everything into this project.
