It is so meaningful. It's so wonderful and really helps keep the show on the air.

It is really important that we get a chance to talk about some of these issues that don't get, I think, enough attention.

And one of these issues is about attachment.

We hear a lot now about attachment issues in different attachment styles and how they impact people's lives and how they impact people's relationships.

But culta also shape attachment and it certainly affects survivors' relationships.

And I want to be able to talk a little bit about that today

and also what healing can look like when it comes to attachment issues.

So there is something really important about attachment because it is sort of how we survive.

It organizes what we expect of people and how we also show up for others if we feel attached

to them or they feel attached to us.

When we deal with attachment, we also need to be able to evaluate if people who were attached to are safe, whether they are worthy of our attachment, whether we're worthy of care, depending on if people were attached to us when we were growing up or not.

And sometimes when parents are not fully

attached, the children or the others in this situation will not feel so worthy of love and

having people attached to them. And it also is sometimes hard to know when you're coming out of a

cult or a controlling relationship

that you can ask for people to take care of you, that you can actually get close to people and get attached, and that that's okay.

It's not diagnosable. It's not something that is wrong with you. It's not pathological.
