And the reason I'm saying that is because you're going to detect a lot of opinion here. Thanks. But I don't consider this a sermon. And the reason I'm saying that is because you're

going to detect a lot of opinion here. And it may be opinion you disagree with strongly. But I'm

trying to apply the words of Scripture. So I'm doing my best here. I just want to make sure

there's a distinction. I don't want to bind consciences where it's not appropriate.

And I recognize that some of the things I might say potentially will, I don't want to say trigger you, because that's kind of an insult. But like, you might disapprove instantly.

But I don't intend to issue commands.

I just, what I want to do today is I want to encourage people to think through something,

and we'll talk about this in a minute, but just from a slightly different perspective than

you might be used to.

But that being said, I am going to read the words of God.

We're going to start with Scripture.

This comes from Romans 12.

And as you know, Romans 12, it comes right before Romans 13.

Which means the direct context is talking about how Christians relate to government, right?

And so let me read the words of God.

Let love be genuine.

Abhor what is evil.
