What is the American dream?

Is that just some silly phrase?

Is it dumb?

Is it trite?

Did it ever exist? Or did it once exist and then went away?

And if so, why?

You know, it's referenced in a lot of songs, it's referenced in a lot of songs it's referenced in a lot of movies and it is generally

referred to as this sort of fairy tale that doesn't exist. Well I'm going to tell you it does exist. The problem

is people that are lazy don't want to admit they're lazy. In fact nobody's ever told them about.

People who make bad decisions, they don't want to be told they make bad decisions.

They view it as they're a victim of trauma or nobody

helped them or somebody played politics or who knows what else. But what happens when people do the same exact things their parents did? They save, they work, they

don't have vices. They don't go crazy. And they don't feel like they're making headway the way past generations did.

Maybe for those people the American Dream is out of touch.

What is the American dream to each individual person?

I guess that's the question.

But consumer confidence is as important to our economic system as gold reserves.

If people believe the economy is doing well and is going to do well, they invest, they spend.

But if they have fear, they withhold.

And that in and of itself can collapse the economy.

So CNN did a study on whether the American dream is out of reach or not. And CNN says
