Hey, this is a bonus podcast for Gun Talk and I'm Tom Gresham.

And a couple of things happen recently I wanted to talk to you about.

Last week I had an occasion to use the no shrug policy.

If you don't know what that is, let me remind you some, oh my gosh, 10 years ago or more.

I created the Gun Talk Truth Squad.

The idea was very simple. The concept is that a lie left unchallenged becomes the truth.

If people keep saying something over and over and no one contradicts it then it must be true.

At least that's the way people think if there's no corresponding pushback from somebody

then whatever it is that idea being pushed forward, you think,

well, it's probably true because I'm not hearing anything on the other side.

So when we read an editorial or we see something on TV that has misinformation, bad information, or just

outright lying about guns, gun owners, and gun rights, the idea is we push back. We don't just shrug and say,

well that's just the way it is. We contact them. We always say something. That's the concept behind the

truth squad. The no shrug policy. Always say something.
