That was Oasis. This is Radio X. On a day when our beloved Manchester, a city that has given us so much is in our hearts.

And our thoughts remain with those

affected and those who continue to provide help. Badenage will continue. Laughter will still echo through

the halls and light will not fail to penetrate the darkness. We have regular news updates to keep

you abreast of events, many of our favourite sounds from our sister city, and of course, our regular features.

And as ever, to my left, my personal candle in the gloom, Mr Ellis James.

Good afternoon, John. How are you?

I'm very good, mate. How are you?

I'm okay. It's just, it's just punishingly sad.

Yes, absolutely, it is.

I watched the news before I went to bed when the report started coming in. And

when you realise the scale of it, it's, I felt lightheaded because it's just too much to

comprehend, I think. Yeah, absolutely. Very many people listening in Manchester will still be,

will still be in shock and also still dealing with the fallout of the events today.

And, um, intern Trav, uh, you know people who, uh, who work in the venue, I think.

Yeah, I've got a friend who works in the venue and, uh, friends who attended the concert

and living and around. Um, everyone sort of my end is safe, but obviously it's still something that's moving on.

You were telling us about all the things, the positive things people were doing to help at the time.

Yeah, it was incredible. The people in Manchester, the outpouring of support, people offering lifts in and around

the city centre, helping people get home, offering rooms for anyone who couldn't get home and needed to stay.

And just the people of Manchester have stuck together and shown what a great city is.
