I'm Tom Gresham. I want to talk just for a few minutes about something that has just come up and I've been swapping emails with a listener and he had a question I thought well that's interesting and then I

realized I've actually gotten this question a few times and yeah it's one of those

deals that I have to remind myself that people are coming into the self-defense world at their own pace.

Not everybody has been at it for as long as I have.

Not everybody has the experience that I have and frankly hasn't had a chance to talk to

you know the people at Gun site and Thunder Ranch and people who really know what they're talking

about. And if you haven't carried for quite a while, you may not

know this and frankly maybe if you have carried for a while, you may still not know this.

Case in point,

this listener was saying he has a Caltech P.F. 9 pistol and he carries it essentially unloaded. I call it unloaded. He said he carries it without a round in the

chamber and just with the magazine loaded so he would have to rack the slide. I call that an unloaded gun. Let's talk about

this because I'm getting this more and more. People say, well, I'm, I don't want to carry around in the chamber that makes me nervous

Almost all fear comes from the unknown and in this case what you don't know can hurt you and hurt the people around you.
