Well, if you're listening to this and you're wondering, what is this podcast that just popped up?

We're going to be doing some bonus podcasts, more things than just the Gun Talk radio show.

Sometimes I just get something in my head that I want to talk about, and it doesn't fit

well into the regular radio show, so I'll be throwing out these podcasts, and that could

be anywhere from just a few minutes to five or ten minutes.

It's not going to be very long, just whatever is on my mind at the time.

I was thinking about wing shooting and shotgunning,

and Ryan and I went out last Saturday, did some quail hunting, and had a couple of things

happened that were reminders. It wasn't that I discovered something. It was that I was

reminded of things that I knew. It's just kind of a

teaching moment, if you will, teachable moment, as they say, in education. One was that I was

shooting. I just grabbed a, an 870, Remington 870 pump in 28 gauge, because I really wanted

to shoot the 28 gauge. And this is a straight out of the box gun,

took it out, and simply did not shoot very well. Now, as you may know, I shoot left-handed on long

guns. Handguns, I shoot right-handed. That's because I have a strong left-dominant eye, but I'm very

right-handed. But fortunately, my dad switched me over to the left side when I was very young

because he saw me trying to use my left eye to shoot with BB guns and such.

So I shoot left-handed, and a straight stock doesn't fit me.

And even worse than that, a lot of the guns, especially over and unders now, are made with

a little bit of cast, that is, the stock is bent to favor right-handed shooters. Well, you can

imagine what that does to you if you're left-handed. So when I put the shotgun up, what I see

is not looking down the barrel. I actually have the barrel kind of pointing to the right. So if I just
