Hi, I'm Tom Gresham. We're looking at the news coming out of Carson City, Nevada, where a man goes into an IHOP restaurant and shoots up the place with a semi-automatic rifle.

What can we learn from this? What do we know about it? Of course, the media is spinning this and they're, well,

they're talking incessantly about things that they don't know anything about. You hear a lot of

talk about. Assault rifles and automatics. Okay, yeah. Put all that aside. Let's make this a learning

experience and maybe a chance to review. It's always a good idea to review your safety

plans, your preparedness. So let's imagine you're in a restaurant, pretty good size restaurant,

and somebody comes in and starts shooting up the place. What are your options?

How do you respond?

Well, first thing I want to talk about is, okay, you've decided to get your carry permit.

And you qualified and you got your piece of plastic or cardboard or whatever it is the state issued.

And you carry for a while. I was talking to a friend of mine jerry evans at the radio station in uh carson city right after it happened

he said well he says i have to admit he says i kind of got lax about carrying my gun after i got my

permit i carried for a while and he said I went right by the site yesterday,

two minutes more earlier, and I'd have been there.
