This discussion asks the question, should there be a European

Super League? It is a hot, hot topic. And our expert panel were Adam Crafton, Matt Slater,

and Raphael Honigstein, alongside me as the host. We hope you enjoy it.

Let's get stuck in then. Who shall I pick first to outline the basics of this,

of what is on the table? What is the European Super League? What are we talking about?

Yes, Matt. I think Matt is the man to do it. You wrote a fantastic article about this, the end of last month,

just sort of outlining what it's all about. You've won the special prize. So what is

the current guise of a European Super League that we're talking about at the moment?

I think the short answer is it depends who you're talking to, when you're talking to them, what their sort of

hidden agenda is at that particular moment. I don't think there is a formal document circulating

out there that this is what the European Serap League will look like. If it is, it's probably a

rebooted version of something that was drawn up in the late 80s and

has been updated scribbling out the names, changing a few, rejigging bits and bobs,

changing the graphics for 25, 30 years. I think the reason we're talking about it now, and I wrote about it, whenever

I wrote about it, is it came up again. It came up sort of simultaneously in Spain and the UK,
