My name is Mike Schubert.

I'm the titular Newst Olympian.

I'm a 31-year-old man who never read the Percy Jackson books as a kid, but I read them as an adult because I was on a quest to determine if this is a book series that society's been sleeping on. I can say with confidence society has been sleeping on it, and now the Percy Jackson TV show is coming out in the near future, and hopefully that will help society not be sleeping on the series. But the reason I'm doing this little update bonus episode is because I had the pleasure of going to New York Comic-Con a while back. And I also had the pleasure of interviewing some of the people on the production team behind the show. And I may or may not have a situation where I'm getting to talk to some of the folks from that production team again, and I will be posting things about those interviews in the future. So in the meantime, I wanted to get the stuff that I already had completed out there so that you can understand where I was coming from in the past, what I learned at Comic-Con, and then in the future what I learned a new interview. So I just wanted to do a little thing here in between episodes. Just, hello, here's the fun stuff that went down at Comic-Con now that it's getting kind of older and new opportunities are here. So let's get right into the whole thing. And we'll start at the big panel that they had. So there was a big panel that I got to get nice seats for because I apparently am a member of the press, which is ridiculous, but we're

going to roll with it because it's allowing me to do cool things. So yes, hello, it's me, very

reputable journalist, Mike Schubert. Now, the folks that were on this panel were John Steinberg,

who is the executive producer and co-creator of the show, Dan Schatz, who is an executive producer,

James Bobbin, who is the director of the first two episodes and an executive producer. Dan Shots, who is an executive producer. James Bobbin, who is the

designer, Tish Monaghan, who is the costume designer, Eric Henry, who is one of the VFX supervisors,

and Jeff White, who is the other VFX supervisor. Specifically, he is with ILM, which is the volume,

which is like the big screen that is a technological version, like doing stuff with green screen and blue screen, but you can actually like put stuff on there so you're not just filming on like a blank thing.

You can already project stuff and then do more CGI on top of it.
