This coming Sunday is Mother's Day, and it'll be an unusual Mother's Day,

and our celebrations will probably be remote.

And today in honor of this unusual Mother's Day, we'll hear as a pair of

mothers-in-law visits some old-time radio comedy stars. Of course, these visits are anything but cheerful, otherwise they wouldn't be very funny.

Burns and Lucille Ball.

First, Gracie's mother is visiting the Burns House

in an Armed Forces radio service rebroadcast of the Burns and Allen show. She's got no shortage of complaints about George,

everything from his lack of do-it-yourself know-how to his career in show business.

Verna Felton is heard as Gracie's mother,

and George's efforts to impress her result in a very misguided renovation project.

Then in my favorite husband, Lucille Ball's Liz Cooper is facing a visit from her mother-in-law, which is bad enough.
