Hey everyone listening to the podcast this is Ari Melber and this is one of our

podcast extras. I've heard from you guys that you like sometimes when we share

extra things this one is going to have a great long conversation that is not something that aired on the beat.

We've been busy with the trial and a lot of other activities.

But I want to dig in tonight to something that affects our lives, society justice, but is more on the musical side so if you're

interested what we usually do on the show I think this might interest you and if

you're interested in music and hip-hop I think it definitely could the Kendrick

Lamar Drake Battle which has been years in the making, has captivated everyone.

The Biden campaign just weighed in, using it to go at Donald Trump and you'll note in a sign of where the politicians think this

thing landed they took the Kendrick Lamar side from not like us but it's it's really

deep in a lot of different ways and so we have two things coming up right now for you here on our beat

podcast. The first is a special breakdown I did of this fast moving hip hop clash. I can't say we covered all of it but we definitely tried to

cover some of the key parts that we think are significant and that's one of my

breakdowns about 10 minutes and that's coming up first. After that I'm going to share something brand new with you which is I was in LA at Big Boy Radio at 92.3,

Classic hip-hop show.

It's one Kendrick Lamar has appeared on along with a lot of the other greats.

And so we had a discussion about politics, society, media, but also a significant chunk of the

time looking at this big battle.

How could you be on LA rap radio and not get into it

and Big Boy is really knowledgeable he actually started out working with the old group

the far side if you remember them and has become a real fixture in West Coast
