Hello everyone. Did you miss us? Hey everyone, it's David here. We have finished season seven,

but we're not quite yet ready to start season eight. That's going to be happening in October,

but I thought I would start releasing a few bonus episodes in the in-between time to keep you guys

busy. Today's episode is inspired by Matt Bush's recent nuptials.

Yep, Matt is now married.

Andrew and I went to Matt's wedding,

which was incidentally the first time all three of us

have been in the same geographic place at the same time.

And Matt asked me to do one of the readings at the Mass, and it was from Second Peter,

which is the classic text about theosis.

And so what I thought I would do is I would read the reading that I read at the wedding,

and then I would share an episode from the vaults.

So for newer listeners, this is all the way back in season one, back when we were still called the Eagle and Child podcast. And this is episode 43 where my friend Joe Heschmire came on the show to talk to us about theosis, because we had just encountered it in mere Christianity and if memory serves

Joe had actually just been in San Diego giving a talk on theosis.

So we'll be getting to that in a moment, but just a little heads up as to what you can expect

over coming weeks. I will be releasing on the podcast feed the audio of the live streams that we had. We had an East Coast

and a West Coast live stream for C.S. Lewis Reading Day last year. Andrew and I have also been

on other people's podcasts and so we will probably be sharing some of those episodes as well.
