0:44.8	everyone, I'm Gloria Gallardo and I am a kindergarten and first grade dual
0:49.8	language immersion Spanish teacher and I work in career town. Also I'm proud
0:55.5	UTLA member. Thank you guys so much for joining us today. Just to give some
0:59.4	background here, I'm just going to read a little bit from a CNN article
1:03.3	covering the impending strike. Just to begin, it says here are union
1:06.9	representing school workers in Los Angeles plans to strike for three days next
1:10.8	week with support from the district's teachers union. It said setting up
1:14.5	what could be a shutdown of the nation's second largest school system.
1:17.8	cafeteria staff, bus drivers, custodians, teachers' assistance and other
1:21.4	members of the SEIU local 99 education workers united voted to approve a
1:26.7	strike next Tuesday through Thursday after nearly a year of negotiating with
