So Shams Tarania from The Athletic reported yesterday that the Warriors and Pelicans had some brief conversations about a possible Kelly Ubre trade, that the Pelicans were interested in possibly acquiring

Ubre from the Warriors.

And Shams also reported that the talks did not gain a whole lot of traction.

And look, I understand why.

Kelly Ubrey hasn't been playing all that well.

He's on an expiring contract.

But I suppose it was

enough traction for Champs to go ahead and report it. And then obviously, things don't need

much traction to get moving on Twitter. And so this was what made the rounds yesterday on

Warriors' Twitter. Possible Kelly Ubrae trades, all those things. I want to break down some of those things,

what the Warriors could potentially look for from New Orleans for Kelly Ubre.

But it makes sense.

Let's start here.

It makes sense why the Pelicans might want Ubrey.

Despite Ubrey not playing all that well, he is an athletic wing who plays defense at a high level, a lot of energy.

And regardless of what you think it is that the pelicans are doing, they are prioritizing size and length.

Look at their roster construction.

You and I can sit here and say, well, what do you need to do to build around Zion Williamson? You need shooting. You need these things. That's true. But they're also in asset accumulation mode. They are in a situation where they're trying to add more athleticism. And that's just based on their moves. Just look at what David Griffin has done so far.

And so the two names that are connected most of the Warriors are J.J. Reddick and Lanzo Ball.

I want to talk about Reddick first because I think a lot of Warriors fans would circle Reddick and be like, yeah, that's the dude.
