Hello everyone, I am very excited to share with you today, a talk which has been part of my book tour for How to Live an Artful Life, my new book that features a quote by an artist or writer for every day of the year.

Think Tracy Eamon to Iris Murdoch. It's the kind of book that you could look at every morning or evening, glance at every time

you need that injection of encouragement to pursue that creative act, or just use it as a reminder

to look at the world in a way an artist might.

One artist who features in this book is the incredible Ez Devlin, hailed for her stage designs

for the likes of Adele and Beyonce to the national theatre

and opera performances. Es Devlin was the second ever guest on the podcast, as she is not only a

fantastic artist, but also speaks about art in the most extraordinary ways. And I cannot wait for you to

My name's Hannah McKinness. I'm absolutely delighted to welcome you to this quite fantastic room, the heritage suite that used to be or was built for the purposes of being the office

for Arthur Liberty, who's the founder of this place. And I'm delighted to welcome me on behalf of

Liberty and to share the stage and conversation with a stage, this sort of incredibly comfy sofa

and wonderfully Christmassy backdrop with these two amazing women. I really can't think of two better people with whom to

discuss how to live an artful life, which is of course the book that has been the inspiration

for this event. I'm afraid my copy really shows why it's worth reading. It's probably the most
