The short story is I grew up watching the show, like a lot of people. I loved it. I watched it with my dad,

with my brothers. It got me interested in my brothers it got me interested in

construction it got me interested in old houses so when my wife and I got married we

immediately set out to find the oldest most rundown house we could afford knowing that we would fix it up and like a lot of

homeowners as soon as we started that process we were like oh oh there's a lot I

don't know maybe I should have paid close to attention.

But it caused us actually during this renovation

of an 1890s Queen Anne Victorian

to write to this old house looking for information.

And it happened to be the first season of Ask This Old House.
