What happened in between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament.

year's summer, join the journey intern, Evelyn Parsley. Hi, Emma. Thanks for having me. You are so

welcome. Evelyn, for those who haven't gotten to know you, this is your first time on the podcast,

would you share a little bit about what God's done in your life and then why you're excited for

this topic? Yeah. I became a Christian when I was six years old. I's done in your life and then why you're excited for this topic.

Yeah. I became a Christian when I was six years old. I grew up in the church and my parents have always been actively involved in teaching me how to study scripture, helping me grow my faith,

build a biblical worldview. They actually homeschooled me all the way up until college and I'm now a

sophomore at Mississippi College,

which is a Christian University in Shocker, Mississippi. And aren't they about to change the name?

Yes, they're changing it to Mississippi Christian University, the MCU. Big development. I love it.

Yes. So that's where I am currently going to school. And during my freshman year at school, actually, I took an Old Testament

survey class in the fall and a New Testament survey class in the spring as a part of MC's core

curriculum. And I had the absolute privilege of taking both classes under Dr. Ivan Park. Brilliant

scholar and teacher. I did get a little bit nervous, though, because at the beginning of his

New Testament class, he told us that the first exam would be the hardest exam in his survey

classes. What a way to start? I know. I know. The reason was that the exam was on intertestmental

history, and he knew that we probably weren't very familiar with it. That gap between Malachi

and Matthew. I had no idea how much fun I was going to have learning about intertestamental history. So I'm super excited to get to talk about it today. Give you all a bird's eye view, a general overview, but it's going to be really fun. I love it. I love it. So Evelyn, I'm going to have you walk us through this period of history. I might jump in here and there.
