Today's a bit of a bonus episode.

For those of you that have watched a program on Netflix called Indian Matchmaking, I watched

it a couple weeks ago and I found it to be very thought-provoking and I'm so lucky that

I was able to interview one of the standout characters from the program, Aparna, and get

a little bit more context and detail about how the show was filmed, you know, what was

editing, what was her personality, how she feels about some for polarizing statements,

how she feels about some of the polarizing commentary of the program.

She definitely gives us a lot of insight into what really went on in the show and it was

so interesting to talk to her because I myself, when I was watching it, I didn't know how

to feel.

I don't know if you guys experienced something similar.

Well, beyond that it's not my place to provide commentary on somebody else's culture nor

do I want to and I'll largely tell you kind of what the dialogue is in the media about

this show, some of the polarizing opinions by reading quotes from Indian American importers

who have had different things to say about this show because I just, I didn't have the

right context or understanding of what about some of the behavior is the exception, what

is kind of the norm is there a norm.

And beyond that, we all know you can't accurately portray an entire culture in a reality show.

My God, I think that's a mistake a lot that's often made when reality programs at air

in the United States feature a certain segment of a different culture.
