So, cartels are now terrorist organizations, but what the hell does that even mean in the

first place? Hello, my friends, Tucker, you here and welcome back to the History of Everything

podcast YouTube channel. I know that at the time that I'm making this, I am definitely late to

the party, because at this point, it is the end of March, and everything that I'm talking about

was set in motion by Trump at the beginning of his presidency at the beginning of 2025.

And oh boy, has 2025 did a wild year so far from the start.

For those that are uninitiated or just somehow unaware, the U.S. State Department would

recently classify the major Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

But of course, me saying that brings up a series of important questions.

What does that really mean?

Does it actually change anything when it comes to how cartels operate or how the U.S. operates in the

first place when treating them? What even is a cartel in the first place? And at the same time,

could being labeled as a terrorist group actually be beneficial or is it something that is just going to straight
