Welcome to a special bonus episode of Kotaku split screen, where we will be talking about the season premiere of Season 7 of Game of Thrones.

I am Kotaku editor at large, Kirk Hamilton, joined as always by Kotaku News editor, Jason Schreier.

This episode had lots of murder, two big rooms with two big maps, some zombie giants, and Ed Sheeran.

Jason Schreier, what did you think of the premiere of Game of Thrones season seven?

So first of all, I have no idea who Ed Shearann was. I mean, I heard the name, but I didn't

recognize him until I looked on Twitter and saw everyone freaking out that, oh my God, it's Ed Shearant.

So that had no impact on me whatsoever. So I recognized him only

because I think I've seen a music video of his. I actually get the sense he's kind of a cool guy,

but I don't know anything about him either. But when I heard someone singing, I was like,

that sounds like a nice singer. And then I saw him, I was like, I wonder if that's that singer guy.

And then also saw people reacting. So yeah, anyway, what did you think of the episode?

I thought it was a good episode. It was clearly a lot of setup and putting the pieces together.
