Hey everybody, I'm Matt, this is the 10-minute Bible Lauer podcast and we're going to do a

fun bonus episode with a fun bonus guest, my longtime friend, Greg Fell, Dr. Greg Fell,

let's give him all the credit he's earned. Greg, good to see you. Good to be here, thank you.

Greg's awesome, he's been my friend for a long time, he's been the district superintendent of the

Rocky Mountain District of the Evangelical Free Church of America forever and when I was working

at a church, he was the guy who helped me figure out how to make things go. So I think the world of him

and so we got to compare notes today when he was in town and he's like, yeah, I talked about

Matthew 8 today, I was like, wait, the part about the calming of the storm and he was like, yep,

and I was like, yeah, here's talking to this microphone right now and now you, my friends,

are caught up on exactly where we are. I've been in Matthew chapter 14 or we have here in the

podcast conversation and we spent a lot of time on this second calming of the storm, this is the

walk on water episode and you just talked about the first of the two episodes. What do you see going

on in the first one? What is the point? Why is that in the text there in Matthew chapter 8?

And do you think there's a connection between it and what's going on in Matthew chapter 14?

Oh, absolutely. Matthew chapter 8, it's all about faith, some have it, most don't. Even the

disciples are amazed at what Christ does in the calming of the storm. And he says to them,

men of little faith, what's wrong with you? Why don't you get this? It's an interesting passage

because we see both the deity of Christ as well as the humanity of Christ in that passage.

He's not dumbfounded because he's got in the flesh, but socially it comes off like, I mean,

what the heck, guys? Yeah. So what do you see in the text prior to that passage that would make you
